Countryfile part 2
Wow.
Can a blog be just one word?
Probably not. Best try and get on with it then.
Well, we have been absolutely overwhelmed by the amazing response that we have had after our segment on Countryfile on Sunday, in fact, that’s probably an understatement. I was so excited to see so many lovely people reach out to us, and even more people on our website and reading our blogs, yes that does include you, my dear reader!
I was already gobsmacked and chuffed with how my husband and daughter came across on TV, I knew they would, but it was great to see it for sure!
It might make you laugh, but I was actually unloading the dishwasher at the time that they were on because I was trying to distract myself, they made me watch it though, so I just had my hands half over my eyes, by the end of the segment I was leaning forward in my seat, beaming, and filled with pride.
I never would’ve thought that pigeon corn would be so exciting, but maybe that’s because we think about pigeons every day! Everyone we know (except our pigeon people) were so surprised by the value of the birds and the range of the corns – I never considered how much Chris really knew about it all until he knew the answer to every question that Adam had.
They didn’t talk at all about our wild bird foods, but I thought that it may be nice to remind you all that it’s what I specialise in, this one has been selling very well recently, and with all of the hot weather I’d just like to remind everyone to make sure there is both food and water out there for all the garden birds, and some on the floor for the ground feeding birds too. We get our resident pheasant family who now come with their offspring too, they much away alongside pigeons and other garden visitors too. They love our high energy wild bird food https://www.laverockhallfarm.co.uk/wild-bird-food/high-energy-wild-bird-food-12-55kg-detail
I’m also so proud of Robyn, she has exclaimed to me that it was very hard to both control a chemical reaction of creating soap and also talk from the heart about a serious debilitating health condition. I’m proud of her every day, but she knows that already!
On another note, we’re still so blooming busy outside too, Chris and George have managed to get all of the oats harvested in under 2 days, this was 180 acres, and I don’t think it’s ever been done that fast – hopefully we can hold onto the good weather for another few days and get the rest of the crops in! The combine has left our farm to harvest elsewhere for a few days, but in the meantime Chris and George are just as busy outside doing land work ready for next year’s crops. I’ll be writing an article about cover crops soon as it was something we discussed with Adam Henson and Chris really does think his oats are so much better this year for having used one.
So to sum up this all-over-the-place blog:
- I’m very proud of Robyn
- Hello to all my new readers!! My web views skyrocketed!
- People have learnt a lot about pigeons
- Harvest is going well, so far…
- We’re tired, but so happy to be busy and live where we do
