February Giveaway
After the big gaden birdwtch, we wanted to keep up all your momentum going with birdwatching, so we’ve decided to do a really exciting giveaway this month to a lucky follower! February is a bit of a rubbish month, so spotting new birds out the kitchen window has to be great boost, or at least I've found that it is. Just this week we had a female woodpecker - I was so excited to see her, and since I saw a male one a few weeks back, we might have a pair!
Anyway, back to our competition!
We’re giving away 2 types of our Laverock Hall bird foods in 5 kilo bags - the High Energy and No Wheat. Both of these bird foods are great for attracting finches, blue tits and some smaller birds like robins and thrushes too. They’re super good all rounder feeds, and can be used for the whole year.
The High Energy is especially good for in the winter months as we have added lots of high protein treats including sunflower hearts, dried mealworms, and suet pellets. The great part about that is this coincides with the breeding season, so you might get the chance to spy some lovely baby birds too! The High Energy feed is a great choice, and each ingredient is a fantastic protein filled energy boost. Contains: Red dari, sunflower hearts, groats, canary seed, red & white millet, cut maize, dried mealworms, and suet pellets.
Fun fact, this was one of the first feeds that Chris actually designed - there was a lot of people who wanted to feed the wild birds, but put off the pigeons from gorging on their feeders, so we went into production on this great mix. The other great thing about having no wheat in the mix is that you don’t get random bits of crops in the garden, but it’s definitely more important to see some exciting birds in the garden! The No Wheat also has black sunflowers, which is a favourite of mine since it means that the bird is on your feeder while it peels the flesh from inside - a much better chance of snapping that perfect picture to send to us! Contains: black sunflowers, red & white dari, red & white millet, groats, canary seeds, niger seed and cut maize.
This one definitely speaks for itself, most garden birds are big fans of peanuts!
We’re giving away 12 fat balls, they’re something that I always have in our garden since they have a lot of energy within the suet. It’s really important that when they have younger birds that they have enough energy, and they can definitely get that from these great products. The suet and seed combination is also really fun to make with any younger family members during half term, just in case you’re looking for an outdoor activity!
Mealworms are a great source of protein for everything in your garden, the birds with a particular penchant for these little worms are the elusive robins and blackbirds - perhaps putting a scattering of these near a camera would be a fantastic idea to make sure you capture every exciting visit!
We’re really excited by this giveaway, and the big garden birdwatch opened our eyes to how many of you are watching outside with eyes like hawks! To enter please click here and find our pinned post!
