Project Plants
Well, it seems quite mad that after all of this horrible rain that Chris is still plugging away at making our shop bigger so that we can increase our gardening and plant supplies! It certainly doesn’t feel like March, but we’re ‘march’ing on through the muddy fields and wintery days to try and make this spring great, once it finally decides to arrive!
If you’ve been in our shop recently (and if you have, thank you, we appreciate you all very much!), then you may have noticed that we’ve had a huge change around in the past few months! We have tonnes of new stock with our Trixie dog treats and some other small animal foods, plus we’ve even added a load of Timco hardware! We’re hoping that you DIY lovers and allotment holders might have a look at our wares, because our prices are great for the stock, and it was handpicked by Chris with help from friends with allotments.
Next on the list is that we’re opening up a miniature garden area, it’s crazy how fast our new stock is taking up spaces on the shelves, but its so exciting to see you all finding out that we stock a niche product and you don’t have to buy it online anymore!
The garden area is going to be opposite the entrance to the shop, the red door area where we used to have the shavings and compost before last year’s expansion. We’ll be stocking bedding plants, vegetables, flowers and probably some other mad things Chris can think of! If there’s anything specific you think we’d do well with then please do message us on Facebook, we’d love to hear from you.
I suppose it does all make sense though, as you have probably noted by now that we have tonnes of seeds in the shop for sale, as well as a load of different varieties of seed potatoes, onions and others.
The weather is horrid, but soon the sun will shine and we can stock you up with all the seeds and plants you need! As farmers, it’s a bit scary when the weather is bad – you don’t know how any of the crops will pan out, if they’ll even grow at all. The shop gives us a lovely bit of stability, and we’re so chuffed that we’ve been busy enough over the last few years that we can expand further and make a real go of it. I think if you’d told me 5 years ago that we’d have doubled in size, and have everything from garden furniture, to hammers and nails, as well as our staple of the bird foods, I’d have laughed at you!
The next few months are going to be fun, but busy – so now all we have to do is wait for the sun to come back out, and we can get some plants in the ground!
